Staff from Bundaberg Hospital joined forces with local mosaic artist Paul Perry to create a beautiful mosaic mural now proudly displayed at the main public entrance of the PARAS block.
The project, which is part of a broader Arts in Health initiative aimed at promoting staff wellbeing, kicked off in early May with a series of five mosaic workshop sessions held on-site.
During these workshops, more than 20 staff members from various departments came together to craft individual mosaic pieces.
Under Paul's expert guidance, each participant infused their unique creativity into the pieces, resulting in a vibrant and diverse collection of artwork.
After the workshops concluded, Paul dedicated the following months to refining and curating the individual pieces into a cohesive, larger mural.
The final installation, completed in August, now stands as a testament to the collective effort and artistic expression of the BBH team.
Arts in Health Consultant Danni Stranieri said she enjoyed watching the project come to fruition.
“It was an incredible experience having Paul join us in leading this creative collaboration, giving staff the opportunity to contribute to such a meaningful artwork for everyone to enjoy as they enter the building,” she said.
“A huge thank you to Paul, our BEMS team, PARAS team, and all of the participating staff members who made this possible!"
One participant said it had been rewarding to be a part of something the community will cherish.
