Our friend and colleague Robyn Stoeve passed away 6 May 2024 with her husband and son by her side.
Robbie worked for the Wide Bay Public Health Unit for 14 years as part of the Business Support Team. She was a dedicated team member and loved her job. She was always available to help others, whether that was at the front counter or staff requiring help.
Whilst going through her cancer treatment if she felt well enough, she would be at work. It took her mind off her treatment and gave her a sense of belonging and being with her work colleagues.
Robyn would stick to a problem we might be having and continue working on it until she found where the issue lay. I would hear a little voice say – “yay got it” she would then proceed to show me what she found.
Robbie loved State of Origin, and those in the Public Health office might remember posters for the Qld and NSW going up each year.
She loved participating in special days in the office, green pikelets for St Patricks Day, secret Santa at Christmas, Sweep for Melbourne Cup.
All we have left now are the many great memories. She was my friend and possibly your friend, let’s not forget the person she was.
