Funrun

A sea of vibrant pink shirts flooded Bargara at the International Women’s Day 5km Fun Run.

Amongst the enthusiastic runners were the Nursing and Midwifery Education team, who came along with the Mater Hospital team.

Education Support Officer Cara Willes said the motivation for taking part in the event was one close to the heart.

“We decided to partake in this event to show solidarity and raise awareness for women battling breast cancer, a cause deeply ingrained in our commitment to healthcare and women's well-being,” she said.

“The fun run holds immense significance as it not only celebrates the strength and resilience of women worldwide but also serves as a platform to advocate for breast cancer awareness, early detection, and support services.”

The event attracted a diverse group of participants, including healthcare professionals, patients, survivors, and community members, all united by a common goal of promoting women's health.

Amidst the spirited atmosphere, filled with laughter, camaraderie, and determination, the fun run proved to be an uplifting and memorable experience for everyone involved.
