The Connecting Communities and Volunteer Expo was a vibrant celebration of Hervey Bay’s community spirit, and our team was proud to be part of it!
With over 40 exhibitors in attendance, the day was filled with opportunities to connect, inspire, and showcase the incredible variety of volunteer roles available across our region.
Christian Berechree, Operations Manager for Hervey Bay Neighbourhood Centre – the organiser of the event, captured the essence of the expo, "Connecting Communities and Volunteer Expo was a wonderful opportunity to showcase the heart of Hervey Bay. With more than 40 exhibitors in attendance, we could see firsthand the variety and strength of our community organisations and the amazing roles available for new volunteers. This event was all about building connections, inspiring people to get involved, and raising awareness of the important work that happens every day in our community.
“Volunteering is one of the most powerful ways people can make a difference in our community. At the expo, we wanted to show just how many different paths there are to get involved, whether through social support, environmental care, youth programs, or the arts. There’s truly something for everyone.”
“We’re thrilled with the response from both exhibitors and attendees. The expo was all about creating partnerships and fostering a stronger, more connected community. We hope today sparked some lasting connections that will strengthen our community for years to come.”
“I want to extend a huge thank you to all the local businesses that donated prizes and to Fraser Coast FM for their live broadcast. Support like this highlights how much our community values collaboration and connection—it’s a wonderful reminder of what makes Hervey Bay so special."
Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service would also like to thank our incredible Auxiliary, who brought delicious baked goods and beautiful handcrafted creations, with all proceeds going toward enhancing patient care and wellbeing.
