This month we celebrated our exceptional staff at the highly anticipated Excellence Awards.
The evening was filled with recognition for the hard work, innovation, and care that staff bring to healthcare across the region.
From clinical professionals to operational and administrative teams, the event honored the dedication and achievements of our employees and volunteers who go above and beyond in their roles.
Chief Executive Debbie Carroll praised the awards night as a chance to acknowledge the vital contributions of the entire workforce.
“Our people are at the heart of what we do,” Debbie said.
“Their commitment to delivering exceptional healthcare, especially in rural and regional communities, is what sets WBHHS apart.
This event not only recognises outstanding service but also highlights our dedication to staff wellbeing and recognition, which are crucial in creating a great place to work.
Among the many inspiring honorees was Telehealth Coordinator Megan Cooper, who received the Embedded Technology Award for her leadership in virtual healthcare innovation.
Megan’s work in telecare for rheumatology and endocrinology services has not only reduced patient wait times but also earned glowing patient feedback.
Her development of the Tissue Analytics digital wound management pilot, approved for enhancing chronic wound care through AI, has further demonstrated her commitment to improving patient outcomes and access to specialist care.
Another notable award recipient was Clinical Pharmacist Isaac Maher, who received the Board Ambassador Accountability Award.
Isaac was recognised for his outstanding patient care, communication, and dedication to achieving the best outcomes for his patients.
His reliable and patient-centered approach ensures that individuals across various settings receive the highest quality pharmaceutical care.
The Excellence Awards Night was a true celebration of the people who make WBHHS an inspiring and innovative healthcare organisation.
