Regional Medical Pathway (RMP)
The RMP is a training and educational pathway for doctors in rural, remote and regional areas. The pathway is available through the University of Queensland (UQ) and Central Queensland University (CQUniversity). We've designed the program to increase our medical workforce in rural and remote areas. It also helps you study medicine closer to home and supports our 'grow your own' strategy.
If you take part, you can do your Bachelor of Medical Sciences at CQUniversity and then transition to UQ’s Doctor of Medicine.
The pathway offers placements with us and Central Queensland Health and Hospital Service. Learn more and find out how to apply on the University of Queensland website.
Workplace based assessment program
If you’re an international medical graduate, you may be able to access our workplace based assessment (WBA) program. You can submit an expression of interest after you’ve worked for us for at least 3 months.
If you’re accepted, and successfully complete the WBA program, you’ll get your Australian Medical Council (AMC) certificate. You won’t need to sit the AMC Clinical Exam.
Read more about workplace based assessments on the Australian Medical Council website.
